Children's Speech and Language Therapy in East and West Suffolk is provided by Integrated Community Paediatric Services. The service sees children with a range of speech, language and communication needs (including eating/drinking difficulties). The services provides an assessment and intervention service for children with identified needs. These can present as:
- unclear speech
- slow or unusual development of spoken language
- little or no spoken language
- difficulties with chewing or eating and drinking
- difficulties in understanding what people say
- stammered (or stuttered) speech
- voice problems
The service operates out of two bases - one in Ipswich and one in Bury St Edmunds, and aims to support children/young people and their families by providing therapy and appropriate packages of care to meet the individual needs of each child.
