Children and young people aged 14 plus who have a Learning Disability and who are registered on their GP's Learning Disability Register have a right to a free Annual Health Check with their GP.
An annual health check helps young people stay healthy, giving them an opportunity to talk with professionals about their health. It also gives GPs an opportunity to catch potential problems early and ensure your young person gets the care they need.
The check offers a thorough assessment of a young person's wellbeing, including checking weight, heart and blood pressure and taking blood and urine samples for testing.
