Parent Carer Workshops - Psychology in Schools Team
The Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT)'s Psychology in Schools Team run a program of parent workshops throughout the year to provide up to date advice and guidance on how parents and carers can support the young people in their life. Topics include "supporting young people with anxiety", "supporting your child to get back to school", "tools to manage uncertainty" and more, and all the workshops are recorded for you to watch at any time.
Read more about the range of workshops available on the NSFT website.
PACT (Parents and Carers Together)
PACT are a support group of parents/carers of children and young people with mental health issues. They provide online and face to face group support, confidential advice and self help resources.
Early Help Assessment
Something else that may be considered is whether a referral to your local Family Support Team via a process called an Early Help Assessment (EHA) might be helpful for you and your child.
The EHA is a way of working with families that puts your needs at the heart of decisions made about you and your children. It is usually started because something is worrying you about your child. You can find out more about EHAs here. They are not always the appropriate route; other agencies may be able to provide your child with alternative appropriate support in conjunction with their school.
Define Fine
Define Fine is a parent/carer-led organisation set up in response to the growing number of children and young people who experience school attendance difficulties and to support parent carers to find solutions for school attendance issues.
